The Chanute Police department is asking the public’s assistance in locating an individual that has been going to houses and daycare centers asking to spray for bugs and spiders.  According to a post on their Facebook page, he is a white male, around 5 feet 10 inches tall, 180 to 200 pounds with dark short hair carrying a hand held spray bottle.  If you are approached, contact Chanute police at 431-5768.  (9/13)
Chanute police are also asking for help with an apparent ambush robbery.  According to The Chanute Tribune, a restaurant employee on Cherry Street was locking up and walking out the back door with the evening deposit last Thursday and was struck on the back of the head by an unknown assailant.   (9/13)
A follow up to a story we told you about on Monday.  Authorities have released the identity of a man whose body was found inside a burning car in rural Lyon County. The victim was identified yesterday as 19-year-old Jesus Avila-Galvin Jr. of Emporia. The death is being investigated as a homicide.  (9/13)
