The parking lot at the new G&W Foods in Iola is smaller than originally planned and the county commission wants to know if the county is due a refund. G&W Foods received a $180,000 grant for the project with a larger parking lot that would accomodate more shoppers. County Counselor Alan Weber will try to get commissioners an answer. (9/28)
Commissioners also heard that a wind farm in northeast Allen County is getting a little closer to becoming a reality. EDP Renewables made formal application Friday to build a wind farm containing 56 turbines and capable of generating 200 megawatts of power. Planners will review the application on Oct. 26. County commissioners will have final say. (9/28)
Iola Police and Allen County Crimestoppers are asking for your help in solving a series of breakins at at businesses over the last week or so. Those occurred in the 900 block of south Chestnut, the 400 block of North Street, the 200 block of north Washington, and the 300 block of south State. If you have information contact police or Crimestoppers. (9/28)
