KIKS & KIOL Radio News 1/4/2018

Allen County commissioners heard from Sheriff Bryan Murphy this week regarding his concern about radio communication dead spots in portions of the county. The Iola Register reports that he proposed construction of a 500-foot-tall tower south of the county landfill to improve reception. The project would cost about $700,000. A second option would be to erect four shorter towers in each corner of the county. Commissioners favored the one tower but proposed pursuing grant opportunities to fund the construction. (1/4)
