Kansas Governor Jeff Colyer toured Southeast Kansas on Saturday, including a stop at the Iola Public Library. Governor Colyer told KOAM TV that folks he talked to are most concerned about making sure they have good schools and roads and that property taxes are kept low. The topic of expanding telemedicine in Southeast Kansas was also brought up to help reduce travel time to doctor visits. Governor Colyer also visited Erie, Fredonia, Yates Center and Independence.
A Parsons man was seriously injured in a one vehicle accident at about 9:45 Sunday morning in Erie. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 24 year old Bradley Wolken lost control of his Ford F150 pickup, went off the roadway and came to rest after striking a tree on Pryor Rd. just south of of 130th Rd. Wolken was transfered to KU Medical Center for treatment.
