If you travel U.S. 59 between Moran and Neosho County, prepare for short delays when a resurfacing project starts today.  It will cover 13 miles between the Neosho-Allen county line and the U.S. 54 junction at Moran.  Flaggers and a pilot car will direct one-lane traffic through the work zone during daylight hours; expect delays of 15 minutes or less. The project should be completed in one month, weather permitting.
The Iola City Council will meet at 6 p.m. tonight at the Park Community Building. Council members will discuss and consider requests for the Gates Annual Employee Picnic, Rotary Day in the Park and a resolution from the Allen County Fair Board.
An Neodeshea man died yesterday afternoon in a one vehicle accident on Ottawa Road 2 miles west of Altoona.  37 year old Floyd Reynolds III was killed when his vehicle left the road and rolled a number of times.
