Today is primary election day.  Polls will be open in Allen County from 7am to 7 pm.  There are a number of statewide races to be decided today including races for governor, secretary of state and the 2nd Congressional District.  There is only one local contested election in Allen County.  That pits John Brocker and Bruce Symes for the Republican nomination for the Allen County Commission.   We’ll have the results for you tonight and tomorrow morning.
A southeast Kansas school district has been sued over unequal pay.  The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed a complaint yesterday against USD 245 Leroy-Gridley in Coffey County.  The siut alledges that the district paid a female principal less than it paid the man she had replaced and less than the man who eventually replaced her.   In 2015 and 2016, Julie Rosenquist served as principal of Gridley Elementary and Southern Coffey County Middle School.  The school district declined comment to The Associated Press.
